The sheets went into the feeder landscape, so the feeder stored them landscape: twelve pages of a signed lease, every one of them a quarter turn off. Anybody who opens the file has to press rotate again, and it prints the way the file is stored, not the way you tilted it on screen. One turn settles it.
Scanned double-sided, the back of each sheet came out flipped: forty-eight pages of meeting minutes, half of them standing on their heads while the rest are perfectly fine. Select just those pages and a single 180-degree turn straightens all of them at once, instead of clicking through the document page by page.
The bid goes to a procurement portal that builds its own thumbnails, so one page lying down is what the panel sees first. And someone already tried to fix it, turning it the wrong way: what it needs is a quarter turn back, 270 degrees. Then it opens upright for the panel, for the print shop and for whoever they forward it to.
The turn is written into the page's own orientation instead of being re-rendered, so text stays selectable, images keep their exact resolution and the file barely changes size. It all runs in your browser through WebAssembly: a 200-page case file never leaves your device, every turn can be undone, and the file on your disk stays untouched until you download.
