How it works

From ODT to PDF in three steps.

No installs, no watermarks, no tricks — straight from your browser.

  1. 01

    Upload your ODT

Straight from LibreOffice or OpenOffice — .docx, .doc and .rtf are accepted too. Up to 100MB, from any device.

  2. 02

    Read natively, composed faithfully

The engine speaks OpenDocument natively: styles, images, tables and page breaks are recomposed into fixed pages, no import guesswork.

  3. 03

    Edit, download and keep it

Your PDF opens in the editor, downloads instantly and stays safe in your cloud library — ready to sign, compress or share.

The format

What is an ODT file?

ODT is the text document of OpenDocument, an open standard (ISO/IEC 26300) maintained by OASIS since 2005. It's the native format of LibreOffice and OpenOffice: XML files packed in a ZIP that describe your text, styles and images.

Being an open standard means nobody needs a license to read it — but not every device has an office suite installed. As a PDF, your ODT opens identically anywhere, no suite required.

Comparison

When ODT, when PDF.

Two formats, two jobs: one to write, one to deliver.

ODT

The format for working on the document.

  • Made for writing and editing
  • Needs a compatible app to open
  • Layout can shift between devices and versions
  • Ideal while the document is still changing
PDF

The format for delivering it.

  • Made for sharing, printing and archiving
  • Opens on any device, no extra software
  • Pixel-identical everywhere, always
  • Ideal when the document is final

That's why the usual flow is: write in ODT, deliver as PDF — and with your library you can keep editing the PDF afterwards too.
