What is an SVG file?
SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics) is an open W3C standard from 2001: an XML text file that describes an image as math — points, curves, shapes and text — instead of a grid of pixels. That's why a logo saved as SVG stays razor-sharp at any size, from a favicon to a billboard.
But being a web-native, code-based format has a cost: SVGs don't print or share reliably — many apps and readers won't open them, and rendering can differ between browsers. As a PDF, the same vector art looks identical everywhere and drops straight into documents, decks and print.
